NFF Sad Over Death of Shehu Garba Gusau
Gusau, a Deputy Director with the National Sports Commission and Coordinator of the Bauchi zone of the NSC, died on Friday in Gusau after a protracted illness.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Zamfara State Football Association, NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu, wrote: “The Nigeria Football Federation and indeed, the entire Nigeria football family is in grief over the demise of this highly accomplished, yet humble administrator, who rose to the top by dint of hard work, diligence and tireless commitment to excellence.
“As Vice Chairman of then Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and Zonal Coordinator of Bauchi zone of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Garba acquitted himself brilliantly and left his footprints in the sands of time. It is so sad and heart –rending to refer to him in the past tense.
“Energetic and dedicated, yet unassuming, late Shehu Garba Gusau worked assiduously with other men of integrity to lay a solid foundation for Nigeria’s domestic game of the modern era.”
