Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Monday paid glowing tributes to one of his predecessors in office, Sir Michael Otedola, who passed away on Monday at the age of 89. He described him as a man with a very good records of service.

The Governor who had earlier at a state event called for a minute silence to be observed in his memory also directed that all flags in the State should fly at half mast for seven days in honour of his service to the state.

While expressing his heartfelt condolences to the widow, Lady Otedola, the children like Femi, Lola, Tola, Bolaji who he described as his childhood friends, Fashola prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.
He recalled that Sir Otedola was responsible for choosing the sobriquet of Centre of Excellence for Lagos during his tenure as Governor when the choice of one was to be made by State Governors.

He added that Sir Michael Otedola would also be remembered for several landmark projects such as the housing estate which he started at Abraham Adesanya and another one at the Toll Gate, some of which he completed and some of which his successors came to complete among others.

Governor Fashola also said the contributions of Late Sir Michael Agbolade Otedola are appropriately well documented in the public space as they are in very voluminous records of the State Government.
