The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has verified and approved 43 films for release into the market with effect from April, 2014.

A statement issued by Acting Head, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Ceasar Kagho said 19 of the films were denominated in English Language, 14 in Yoruba, 7 in Hausa, two in Ibibio and one in Bini language respectively. He said that “The Return of Baby Oku in America” is the only film rated PG.
Sixteen of the movies were classified “15”, among which are Pretty Liars, A Thousand Kisses, First Cause, Woli Agba, Bebi Pu Lofa, Ijoba Osekan, Ebun Akoko, Ruwan Zuma, Bugun Abuja and Da kaizan Gana.
He explained that 26 films were classified “18” among which are Anwo Ino, Anwo Ino, Baba Babi, Baba Were, Asake Oni Bread, Baba Rana, Badurwa, Har Da mijina, and Egbo-Eziza.
Also approved for release are Spirits and dogs, Kubayashi, Ojokoja, United Apart, The Harvest Season,, Jaiye Ogo and Discussion Continues.
Kagho explained that movies are classified 15 if they contain strong language, violence and sex while those classified 18 have ritual and fetish practices, strong language and drug abuse. He said those classified PG are movies that required parental guidance while watching.
