Things have fallen apart and the centre could no longer hold in the Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria.

The association has lost control over its members, leading to disorganization in the way and manner that films are released into the market.

Our investigation revealed that there is no longer any fixed date for pushing films into the market. What is obtained is that any filmmaker or distributor is now at liberty to put his films up for sales once the product is finished, a development that has impacted negatively on sales of films in the market.

Chairman of the marketers, Mr. Norbert Ajaegbu told our correspondent that it is not an easy task organizing human beings. He described members of his association as captains in their own right adding that his members however believes that distribution is very key to the survival of the business.

He explained that government and the filmmakers have a role to play in this area.Ajaegbu said the union recently met with the Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Mrs. Patricia Bala on how to improve the situation adding that he believes that the association will come out stronger at the end of the crisis.
