Cumulative sales for leading films at the box office continued to drop during the week with films that have been on the big screen taking the lead. A new film Haunted House 2 put together by Open Roads made it into the top five league when it gleaned $9.1 million from 2,310 theatres in the US to make it to the top 5 on the chart.

Transcendence, another new film made it to number 4 at the box office during the week. A production of Buena Vista, the film made $11.150 million after exhibiting in 3,455 viewing centres in the US to make to retain number 4 on the chart. Siting ahead at number 3 is Heaven is for Real, a new film put together by TriStar Studios. Heaven is for Real made $21.5 million from 2,417 film viewing centres in the US where it was exhibited to make it to that spot on the chart.

Rio 2, which is two weeks old at the big screen retained the number 2 spot after raking $22.5 million from 3,975 centres where it made appearance in the US .

But the most patronized movie at the box office remains Captain America: The Winter Soldier put together by Buena Vista. The film gleaned $26.612 million from 3,825 cinemas where it was exhibited to emerge as the most patronized film during the week.

Captain America was shot with a budget of $170 million but it has been able to reward those who put it together with $201.526 million in just three weeks at the box office.
