British-Nigerian Chiwetel Ejiofor is Best Actor at BAFTA

British-Nigerian Actor and filmmaker, Mr. Chiwetel Ejiofor on Sunday emerged best-actor at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) for his effort in the film, “12 Years a Slave.”

While receiving the award, the actor thanked director of the film, Mr. Steve McQueen for bringing to the screen the true story of a free black man kidnapped into servitude in South America in the 19th-century.

Cate Blanchett won best actress with the film ‘Blue Jasmine’, which she dedicated to the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. Alfonso Cuaron was named best director for ‘Gravity’, while the Space thriller “Gravity” got best British movie.
