The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), has called on members of the National Assembly to respect the right of members to choose the party they want without intimidation.
Respect People’s Right on Party, PGF tells Lawmakers
This was contained in a communiqué issued by the governors after a closed door meeting in Marina, Lagos, Nigeria.
“The forum reviewed current developments in the National Assembly noting the ongoing political realignments of members of the federal parliament. It charges the leadership of the National Assembly to remain consistent by respecting the rights and privileges of members to choose the political party of their choice without intimidation”, the communiqué said.
In the communiqué signed by Chairman of the forum, Rochas Okorocha, the governors frowned at what they described as recklessness, impunity and outright misconduct of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Mbu and maintained that the Nigeria Police Force is not a PDP police and that such flagrant violations of the Constitution and laws of Nigeria should henceforth stop.
