Lone Survivor Overtakes Frozen at Box Office, Makes $38.5M

It was not the best at Hollywood during the week but nevertheless impressive with millions of Dollars exchanging hands at the box office. American Hustle was pushed down to number 5 after yielding just $8.6 million from 2,629 cinemas in the US. That film was put together by Sony Pictures.

The Legend of Hercules is number 4. A production of Lions Gate, the film made$8.6 million after passing through 2,104 viewing centres in the US to make it to that spot on the box office chart.

Following behind in the third position is The Wolf of Wall Street, which is distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film grossed the sum of $9 million from the 2, 521 cinemas where it made appearance in the US to hit number 3 on the box office chart.

Frozen which was number one last week dropped to number 2 when sales at the box office dropped to $15.070 million at the weekend. But the figure was good enough for it to get to number 2 position on the chart after appearing in 3,239 viewing centres in the US to get to that spot. Frozen is being distributed through theatres by Buena Vista.

But the hottest film at the box office during the week was Lone Survivor, which is currently having good reception across viewing centres in the US. Universal Pictures is distributing the film and it grossed a total sum of $38.511 million from 2,875 cinemas in the US to emerge as the most watched film on the box office chart.

Lone Survivor is a small budget film produced with the sum of $40 million. It is expected to break even and make huge profit by next weekend.
