APGA candidate polled 180, 178 votes to emerge winner of the election, while candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Tony Nwoye polled 97,700 votes. Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Chris Ngige came third after polling 95, 963 votes. Labour Party with Andy Uba as candidate came fourth with 37, 495 votes.
1,770, 127 electorates registered for the election while 465,891 candidates were accredited. Four hundred and forty-two thousand, two hundred and forty-two (442,242) votes were cast, while 16,988 were rejected.
