The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has withheld results of 38, 260 candidates that sat for the November/December 2013 WAEC for indulging in examination mal-practices.

The number represents 12.88 percent out of the 380,217 candidates that sat for the examination. Head of WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu, who announced the results in Lagos on Thursday said 70.83 per cent of the candidates failed to obtain credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
According to him, only 86, 612candidates obtained credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
He explained that in the 2011 about 139,287 candidates representing 36.07 per cent obtained credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics while 150, 615 representing 37.97 per cent obtained credits in the 2012 Nov/Dec examination.
