The Lagos State Government has announced that it will for the second time in few months close Mile2- Badagry Express way to pave way for installation of beam for pedestrian bridge at Mile 2 across Lagos – Badagry Expressway.

The road will be closed to traffic on Sunday 1st December 2013 between the hours of 7AM and 12 Noon.

“The beam launch will leave an impact on the traffic flow on the Badagry bound carriageway and traffic from Apapa – Oshodi Expressway linking the Lagos – Badagry Expressway. Traffic movement on the carriageway during the duration of the launch will be limited from 7am to 12noon”, Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa said in Lagos.

He said the closure will commence from Orile to Maza Maza Bridge with traffic diversion via the construction lane. “Traffic joining the Badagry Expressway from Oshodi – Apapa Expressway will not be able to access the Badagry Expressway and will therefore be diverted via the Festac link road to rejoin the Expressway at Festac.

“All measures will be put in place to minimize the delays to traffic within the area during the launch. This notice serves as awareness information on the beam launch. Motorists and other road users are therefore advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic delays”, he said.
