The military authority in Egypt is once more in power having forced defiant President Mohammed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood out of power less than one year after he was sworn in.

General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced suspension of the constitution and a road map to democratic rule to a cherry crowd but with a revised constitution.

President of the Supreme Constitutional Court will now act as Interim Head of State but will be assisted by an interim council until new presidential and parliamentary elections will be held.  The military leader made the announcement after an extensive consultation with politicians but the Muslim Brotherhood was reported to have refused to attend the meeting summoned by top generals.

So far, Mursi  who rejected the military incursion describing it as nothing but a coup d’état. Meanwhile, it was wild celebration outside the presidential palace as the ecstatic crowd celebrated the exit of Mursi with fire crackers of immense proportion.
