Acting Publicity Secretary (national) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Tony Caesar Okeke has expressed optimism that PDP will triumph in 2015 and retain its pre-eminent position.

Okeke, a practising lawyer who made the revelation shortly after resumption in Abuja said PDP remains the party to beat adding that as a family guided by principles of equity and justice, it has all it takes to settle its problems.

The party publicist urged all members of the PDP to close ranks and continue to work hard in the interest of the party, promising to build on the legacies left behind by past publicity secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh

He showered encomiums on Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and Metuh for repositioning the publicity arm of the party for greater productivity in the last 14 months.

He said that innovations introduced by his immediate predecessor enabled the party to win more supporters and put the opposition in check despite internal challenges and unwarranted attacks.

Okeke who was accompanied by the Acting Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Caleb Yaya, praised Metuh for “introducing finesse in PDP publicity and for his refusal to engage in propaganda and use of uncouth language” which he noted were the “trademarks of opposition parties.”

Okeke also commended his predecessor for launching upgraded interactive PDP website and the creation of PDP Facebook and twitter accounts which have been fitted with multi-media information management features including text, pictures and video applications for online, real time dissemination of information on the activities of the party.

While soliciting the support of the media, the acting spokesperson of the party assured that he remained committed to sustaining the tempo already set by his predecessor pending the election of a substantive National Publicity Secretary at the July 20, 2013 special convention.
