August 25, 2015 – At least two people are feared dead in a bloody clash by youths from Idumota area who assaulted their counterpart from John Street in Lagos Island during a gathering at Itafaji area of Lagos on Monday night.
The victims were seriously butchered with cutlasses from over 40 boys from Idumota who invaded the naming ceremony at Onikepo Street, Itafaji, Lagos Island at about 7.45pm to avenge an earlier attack by assailants from John Street last Saturday.
One of the victims was inflicted with machette wounds at Onikepo Street, while the other was machetted into pulp at Elias Street after hot pursuit.
The two boys were taken to General Hospital, Lagos Island by Samaritan. We gathered that one of the attackers fled but later showed-up on Monday evening at Itafaji to see their friend called ‘Billy’.
Luck however ran out of him when he was spotted by one of the victims attacked at John Street who alerted the Idumota youths leading to a bloody clash.
Commenting on the incident, the Chairman Pashi-Willoughby Community Development Association (CDA), Prince Adamson Idowu said efforts have been made to some of the police divisional headquarters on the Island to report the incident and for the police to come and flush out the youths that always bring bad boys to the area.
