ABUJA, Nigeria – Not less than 16 lawmakers of the All Progressive Congress(APC) this morning defeted to the Peoples Democratic Party. They defected shortly after President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki who has issues with roadblocks earlier stepped into the red chamber and presided over plenary.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, announced the development on the social media few minutes ago.
“Breaking News! Despite the intimidation, harrasment and roadblocks by the @MBuhari led @OfficialAPCNg FG, the @NGRSenate is currently sitting and 16 Senators from the ruling @OfficialAPCNg has defected to the @OfficialPDPNig on the floor of the Senate. Congratulations!”, the official arm of the PDP on tweeter said.
According to unverified reports, the Senators are SenatorTejouso, Shaaba, Gemade, Melaye, Shittu, Rafiu, Shittu Ubali, Isa Misau, Hunkuyi, Monsurat, Danbaba, Nafada, Nazif, Kwankwaso and Nyarko.
