August 17, 2014 – At least 1.6 million indigbo have indicated their willingness to support President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate for the 2015 general election.
The indigbo made the revelation when Abia State Governor Mr. Theodore Orji presented a register of 1.6 million indigbo to Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim Pius in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Orji said the document is indicative of the total support the indigbo have for the President and called on him not to delay in making up his mind to run for the position come 2015.
He called on Pius to present the document the way it is to the president, without any addition or subtraction.
While receiving the document, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation said that the document is indicative of the total support that Igbo have for the President.
He called on Indigbo to spread reports of what President Goodluck Jonathan has done in his effort to develop the nation far and wide.
