July 1, 2014 – Emboldened by victory of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, President Goodluck Jonathan and Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu on Tuesday held a closed door meeting with the former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The meeting is coming few weeks after the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) met with Oyinlola in Osun to work for the party to enable it retain the state in the August 9, 2014 election.

Ironically, Oyinlola was governor when the incumbent Governor of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola chased him from government house after the later obtained victory from the court.

Details of the meeting were unknown but we gathered that it may not be unconnected with the efforts of the President to add Osun to states in the kitty of the PDP in the South-West come August 9 when the election would hold.

“I was taken to the villa by the chairman of the party PDP, and we had some discussions as to how to move the fortunes of the party forward. All I am telling you is that Oyinlola in the face of the law remains the authentic secretary of the PDP. Anybody in that office for now, is a pretender,” Oyinlola is quoted as saying.
The PDP candidate in the August 9 election is Iyiola‎ Omisore.
