Comrade Gbenga Moses Soloki elected as the new National President of Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR)

LAGOS, Nigeria – A veteran journalist, Comrade Gbenga Soloki has been elected as the new National President of Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR). He was elected at weekend in Lagos.





Comrade Gbenga Soloki attained the new position in the election held after the 2017 AGM at City Hotel, old Ipaja road, Agege, Lagos on Saturday afternoon. Soloki who was the chairman of Lagos State Governor Press crew during the era of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeated his female opponent, comrade Komolafe with 29 votes against four votes.

Earlier, two other contestants against Soloki withdrawn their candidature with explanation that, they cannot contest against him, been a leader and experience man for the position. He was however sworn in as the new National President of the Committee.

In his acceptance speech, Soloki expressed appreciation to all members of the association at venue, particularly the lady that contested against him. He assured all members of continual struggle for the Nigerian populace on better governance and proper attainment of the rule of law.

Soloki also assured on better welfares for members with a pledge not to betray the trust reposed on him. Members in attendance were delegates from all 36 in the federation.
