CHERKESSK, Russia – The Supreme Court of Russia today liquidated a branch of Jehovah’s Witnesses religious organization in Cherkessk.

Just like, the case involving the administrative centre, the court based its decision on the fabricated allegation that the JWs are extremist.

The JWs had filled an appeal against the February 10 ruling of the Supreme Court of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic but the court ruled against them.

On April 20, Russia’s Supreme Court liquidated the Administrative Centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses, under trump up charge that they are extremist. It also outlawed their activities in Russia.

The Justice Ministry said that violations of the law “On Combating Extremism” had been revealed during inspection conducted in the organization.

But the JWs have constantly maintained that they are peaceful group and that the materials alleged were planted in their kingdom hall by Russian agents. See video of the incident here.
