ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Pakistan’s Supreme Court today ruled that there is no sufficient evidence to remove Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif

The PM and his family have been on trial for corruption claims which he and his family have denied.

Sharif’s daughter Maryam, tipped as a future political star, and his sons Hasan and Hussein are implicated in the allegations having been linked to offshore accounts in the Panama Papers leaks but Mr Sharif and his family denied any wrongdoing, dismissing the claims as politically motivated.

About 1,500 police officers were deployed around the court in Islamabad, local media reported.
But at today’s hearing, the Supreme Court’s five-member bench cleared the prime minister of the allegations.
