IKEJA, Nigeria – The Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, has congratulated Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, the newly appointed Commissioner for Information and Strategy and other appointees.
Kehinde Bamigbetan takes over from Arts and Entertainment buff Steve Ayorinde who is now Commissioner for Arts and Culture.
In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Dr. Qasim Akinreti and the Secretary, Mr. Alfred Odifa, the union described the appointment of Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan as another round peg in a round hole.
The Union eulogized the versatile journalist as a vibrant, disciplined and God-fearing fellow. The Union noted his vast experience in journalism dated back to reportorial years in Vanguard and Concord Newspapers, the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Communication and Community Affairs. The Union therefore commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the choice.
In the same vein, the Union felicitates with Mr. Steve Ayorinde on his appointment as the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism.
An Arts journalist per excellence, Mr. Ayorinde wealth of experience will add impetus to Arts, Culture and Tourism sectors in Lagos State economy and Nigeria as a whole.
The Union also congratulates other appointees – Mr. Hakeem Fahm, Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Ladi Lawanson, Transportation, Mr. Segun Banjo, Economic Planning and Budget, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, Commerce and Industry and Hakeem Sulaiman, Communities and Communications.
The Union believed that their appointments will add vigour and vitality to Governor Ambode’s administration.
