October 7, 2014 – Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) will in the next few months begin a programme aimed at transforming Nigerian football into an enviable position. Part of the programme is selection and sending of 20 Nigerians on training abroad.

He added that 10 Nigerian referees will also be sent abroad for training in FIFA organised courses for referees with the goal of having at least one Nigerian referee to referee in the next World cup or in Quarter.

He said is approach is generally to bring past glory to Nigerian football by grooming young talents from the grassroots and grooming them to play for national teams.

He said his approach is to build a corporate image for the NFF to make it easy for corporate organisations to deal with it. In line with this, he said he intends to hire Price Water House Coopers to audit the NFF to look at their books and staff and a quarterly submission of what the NFF plans to do to the Nigerian Sports Commission to minimize tension between the NFF and the commission.

He said that the Aminu Maigari board has done very well adding that what is left is to build on what they have done and bring in some football science. He said if given the right support Nigerians will be glad with the results even if he may not be there when the results will become viseable.

He described Keshi as a hero who is coaching the Super Eagles but without a contract.
