NFF SLAMS N3.5 MILLION FINE ON CROWN FC, BANS OFFICIALS

WUSE, Abuja, Nigeria – The NFF disciplinary committee has imposed a total fine of N3,550 million on Crown FC for unprofessional behavioir when the team clashed with Abia Comet FC at Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.




The committee fined Crown FC N2,000,000 for assault on Match Officials and the Away Team; the team is to pay the total sum of N1,050,000 as compensation to Match Officials on items damaged as well as Cameras of the Away Team and pay the sum of N500,000 being medical bills for both Match Officials, Abia Comets FC players and Officials assaulted.

The committee also banned Adetunde Adewunmi (Team Manager), Alabi Jonathan (Physiotherapist), Mr.Kazeem (welfare officer) and players Adeniyi Adejare, Gbadomasi Fatai and Onukwube Samuel from participating in all NFF –organized competitions for a period of one year for participating in the assault of Match Officials .

Besides, it also banned the Soun Township Stadium from hosting any NNL League Match for 2017/2018 Season and banished Crown FC from Soun Township Stadium for a period of One (1) year.

“They may elect to play their home matches in any Stadium within Abeokuta or outside Abeokuta”, the committee said.

DECISIONS OF THE NFF DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE ON THE CASES BROUGHT BEFORE IT FOR HEARING ON 14TH OCTOBER, 2017 AT BOLTON WHITE APARTMENTS, WUSE ZONE 7, ABUJA and

IN THE MATTER BETWEEN ABIA COMETS FC VS. CROWN FC ON THE MATCH PLAYED BETWEEN CROWN FC VS. ABIA COMETS FC.
FINDINGS:

1) The Committee found that Crown FC were in breach of Art. 16.1, 17.1, and 26. 1 of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Rules.
2) That Crown FC admitted the allegations of assault on match Officials by some of their players and club officials as well as some spectators.

3) That Abia Comets FC was not able to establish the loss of items listed in their protest such as monies, mobile phones and football boots.




DECISIONS:

1) Crown FC is hereby fined the sum of Two Million (N2,000,000.00) Naira for assault on Match Officials and the Away Team.
2) That Adetunde Adewunmi (Team Manager), Alabi Jonathan (Physiotherapist), Mr.Kazeem (welfare officer) and players Adeniyi Adejare, Gbadomasi Fatai and Onukwube Samuel are hereby banned from participating in all NFF –organized competitions for a period of one year for participating in the assault of Match Officials .
3) That Soun Township Stadium is hereby banned from hosting any NNL League Match for 2017/2018 Season.

4) That Crown FC is hereby banished from Soun Township Stadium for a period of One (1) year. They may elect to play their home matches in any Stadium within Abeokuta or outside Abeokuta.

5) That Crown FC should pay the total sum of One Million and Fifty Thousand (N1,050,000) Naira, being compensation to Match Officials on items damaged as well as Cameras of the Away Team.

6) That Crown FC should pay the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000.00) Naira, being medical bills for both Match Officials, Abia Comets FC players and Officials assaulted.

7) That the Committee wishes to state that the above decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
