LAGOS, Nigeria – The NFF Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of N500, 000 on AS Racines FC for exhibiting unprofessional behaviour in the clash between the team and Abia Comet in the Nigerian National League, NNL.
AS Racines FC stayed away from the game for more than five (5) minutes, which is in contravention of Article 14. 8 Nigeria National League (NNL) Rules, forcing the committee to impose the fine.
“That the Centre Referee ought to have called off the match after five minutes of refusal to continue with the game by AS Racines FC as envisaged by the rules, the Committee is constrained to upturn the sporting result of the game (1-1) therefore, Abia Comets FC is awarded 3 points and 3 goals in line with Art 14. 8 of the rules and in addition, AS Racines FC is fined the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000) Naira”, the committee said.
It also caution Coach of AS Racines FC, Mr. Victor Agali for acting is in breach of Art. 9. 5 of the Rules.

IN THE MATTER BETWEEN ABIA COMETS FC VS. AS RACINES FC ON THE MATCH PLAYED BETWEEN ABIA COMETS FC VS. AS RACINES FC
FINDINGS:
1) The Committee found out from the Match Reports that AS Racines FC stayed away from the game for more than five (5) minutes, which is in contravention of Article 14. 8 Nigeria National League (NNL) Rules
2) That the Coach of AS Racines FC, Mr. Victor Agali is in breach of Art. 9. 5 of the Rules.
3) That Abia Comets FC Marketing Manager, Prince Udofia is in breach of Art. 23. 1 of the Rules.
4) That the Centre Referee, Areweremi Ebimi failed to call off the Match after the expiration of the Five (5) minutes time.
DECISIONS:
1) That the Centre Referee ought to have called off the match after five minutes of refusal to continue with the game by AS Racines FC as envisaged by the rules, the Committee is constrained to upturn the sporting result of the game (1-1) therefore, Abia Comets FC is awarded 3 points and 3 goals in line with Art 14. 8 of the rules and in addition, AS Racines FC is fined the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000) Naira.
2) That the Coach of AS Racines FC, Mr Victor Agali is hereby cautioned to conduct himself in a manner that will not bring the game to disrepute.
3) That Abia Comets FC Marketing Manager, Prince Udofia is hereby cautioned to at all times exhibit the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship and to avoid utterances that will bring the game to disrepute.
4) That the Centre referee, Areweremi Ebimi is hereby cautioned for continuing the Match after AS Racines FC’s refusal to continue within the Five ((5) as stipulated in Art. 14. 8 of the Rules.
5) That the Committee wishes to state that the above decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
