NEW YORK, United States – A 25 year old man has been arrested by officers of the New York Police NYPD has been arrested for animal cruelty.

The 25 year old man, according to police failed to properly cater for his 12-year-old Bichon Frise dog, leading to injury in the paw.

“An animal cruelty call on the Upper East Side of Manhattan led to officers arresting a man last week. Police Officer Feeley and his partner Police Officer Abuhamdeh of the 19 Precinct responded to the Animal Medical Center on East 62 Street after staff members call 911”, the police said.

The call for animal cruelty was placed after seeing the condition of a 12-year-old Bichon Frise dog that was brought to the Center. The dog’s paw was severely injured due to a lack of grooming by its owner.

The two police officers placed a 25-year-old man under arrest and charged him with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Representatives from the ASPCA also responded and removed the dog for further evaluation and possible adoption.
