The statement said the three-day District Conventions would hold at the assembly grounds of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Ota and Daluwon in Ogun State, Badagry and Lekki in Lagos State. The convention series at the Ota assembly ground, Idi Iroko road in Ogun State would commence on Friday, September 26, 2013 with the last in the series ending on Sunday, December 22, 2013.
The release stressed that the convention programme would be presented in English, French, Gun, Yoruba and American Sign Language.
It said that the conventions would feature Bible talks, symposiums and Bible dramas.
One of the numerous symposiums that would feature in the convention series is entitled: “The truth sets us free”. The symposium would highlight how the truth can free those who believe in it, draw them closer to God, give them Bible trained conscience, free them from false belief, bad habits, bad associates and hopelessness.
There will also be talks on the best way to raise children in the mental regulating of God’s word. The convention will also feature two dramas which will animate Bible stories and their lessons in life. A third drama will feature only sound and would emphasis how faithfulness can enable one to conquer fear.
A major feature of the three-day convention is the public talk on Sunday morning entitled: “What is truth”. The talk will emphasise why we can trust God’s word the Bible.
Jehovah’s Witnesses view God’s Kingdom as a real government that would soon take action in favour of those subjecting themselves to it and against those who refuse.
“Jehovah’s Witnesses invite everyone to attend and learn more about those topics”, said the release. The programme in the Convention series begins each day by 9.20 am. Admission is free. Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported by voluntary donations.
