IGP Approves Promotion of Police Officers with Higher Certificates

December 17, 2014 – The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Suleiman Abba has approved promotion of junior officers in the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) who have acquired higher certificates since they entered into service.




In a statement, force public relations officers, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu said the promotion is in line with the resolve of the police to further boost the morale of the police workforce.

The promotion will affect officers inspectors, rank and file with university and other tertiary education certificates for elevation to the senior officer cadre.

“The circular to this effect was issued Monday 15th December, 2014 wherein Commands and Formations across the country were directed to compile and forward the names of all serving Inspectors and Rank and File with Higher Certificates such as University degrees, HND, OND and NCE for necessary processing.

“The IGP re-emphasized his commitment to improve the welfare of all Police personnel”, the statement said.

  • he should consider junior police officers who are law graduates and have been called to nigeria bar and inspectors with degree certificates first

  • sir if the consideration of graduates in the police works your name will be written in gold and the image of the police will Change for better i wish u the best.

    • What about those have no assez to CPs or DIGs etc for Approval of Studg. That is Letters of Study of Courses.

  • Most of us have the best certificates. But have no Letter of Approval requested by the Administrative officers. IGP. Pls come to our aid help us out! Because we dont have access to reach You for your signature. And some Cps are scared of signing it.
