Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola on Friday condemned the gruesome murder of an emerging hip hop artiste, Olaniyan Damilola popularly called Damino Damoshe in the premises of the Lagos State University on Thursday.
The artiste, a 400 level student of Banking and Finance, was shot dead at entrance of the Lagos State University, LASU, main campus, Iyana-Iba, Ojo local government on Thursday evening. He was killed moments after writing one of his papers. We gathered that the assailants who attacked him aboard a motorbike not only shot him but pounced on him with knife, stabbing severally to ensure he was dead before leaving the scene.
Fashola spoke who spoke at the flag-off of the National Immunisation Plus days and the Eko free health mission in Ipaja, Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development, LCDA, said that the murder vindicated the state government’s introduction of the traffic law which restricted operation of commercial motorcycles, otherwise called Okada to some roads within the Lagos metropolis.
“Just yesterday, Damino Damoshe, was shot at the entrance gate of LASU. Those who perpetrated the evil act used Okada.” “Just one month ago, a medical doctor was killed by some armed men who were riding Okada. The doctor would have been here to render medical service to those who would require medical services at this free health mission,” the governor recalled.
