IKOYI, Lagos, Nigeria – A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, has remanded Chimezie Chuta in prison pending when the court will entertain his application for bail.




He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two count-charge bordering on cyber crime for allegedly hacking into the online bookstores of Living Faith Church, also called Winners Chapel.

The EFCC alleged that the accused had on March 8 without authority altered the data of Dominion bookstores online platform belonging to Living Faith Church Worldwide and created a counterfeit of the said church’s online platform.

Prosecutor, Yerima Ahmed asked the court to remand him custody pending trial. But lawyer to the accused, Mr. Osagie, pleaded with the court to remand his client in EFCC custody. Justice Ayotunde Faji adjourned the matter till February 26, 2018 for trial.
