IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – General Overseer, City of Restoration, Akure, Pastor Jeremiah Adanlawo will on Monday, November 20, appear in court for allegedly duping one Mr. Oluwole Jacob Morakinyo of the sum of N3, 015, 700,000, through fraudulent sales of land.




The pastor who sold four plots of lands to Morakinyo in Lekki Lagos, while he was General Overseer, Strong Tower Assembly, Epetu, Lekki, Lagos, according to court papers, later closed the Church and relocated to Akure, Ondo State, where he established City of Restauration allegedly to evade arrest.

Pastor Jeremiah Adanlawo was arrested in Akure and arraigned on two counts charge of obtaining money by false pretense and fraud. He was granted bail in the sum of N700,000 in May 2017 by Chief Magistrate Y.O. Aje Afunwa.

In his statement before the police, Oluwole Jacob Morakinyo said he was chased out of the land by land grabbers, forcing him to call the pastor who promised to provide him with another land. He wrote that he rejected the offer when he was told that the pastor is not sincere.

He wrote that the pastor promised to refund the money during mediation and has only paid N100,000 since then. In his confessional statement, Pastor Jeremiah Adanlawo said he worked in Ibeju Lekki for eight years before relocating to Ondo State in 2010.

” In the year 2008, I sold 3 plots of land at the rate of N1.7 million to one Mr. Jacob Morakinyo but in 2011, he phoned me that the land has been taken over by Omonile. I gave. him another 2 plots worth N2.5 million in the year 2012 but he called me back that the same land has been taken over by Omonile again in the year 2016…. In December 2016, I paid N100, 000″, he said adding that he took him to another 2 plots of land at Powo Village, Eleko Junction and that he was not chased out of the land since the Omoniles are well known to him and that the money was used to build church auditoriuum at Eputu.
