December 17, 2014 – After all the speculations, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammed Buhari today announced former Attorney General of Lagos State Professor Yemi Osibajo (SAN) as his running mate.
He announced Osibajo as Vice Presidential candidate and running mate.
Buhari thanked Nigerians and said picking the candidate was not easy. To assist me in building Nigeria of our vision, I have chosen a Nigerian of integrity and an alumnus of the University of Lagos.
The VP is a friend of the less privilege, a man of humility and a selfless patriot. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Professor Yemi Osibajo who by the grace of God will be the Vice President of Nigeria.
Reacting to his nomination, Osibajo said “I am grateful to Buhari for nominating me as VP. I accept the nomination and happy and I accept to run with Gen. Buhari whom his detractors know as a honest person.
“I think we have in him a man with whom we can lead Nigeria to a country that has been deprived us for long time. I believe in February we will win and in a short time return Nigeria to what we have been yearning for”, Osibajo said.
