LAGOS, Nigeria – An Atiku Abubakar support group, Atiku Youths Initiative Foundation (AYIFO), has hailed the historic visit of its principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State in Ekiti, saying that the rapturous welcome the former Vice President received was an indication of good things to come for the Wazirin Adamawa in the 2019 Presidential election.

Recall that the former Vice

President recently visited Governor Fayose in Ekiti ahead of the 2019 Presidential poll. Atiku was hailed by thousands of supporters, including hundreds of AYIFO’s members, Ekiti and Ondo States chapters, led by the Ondo State coordinator, Simire Ola David, who thronged the Akure airport, Akure, Ondo State, to welcome him.

In a statement from the national body, and signed by its National Chairman, Alh. Mohd Nura Kabir, the Deputy National Chairman, Joe Nneke, and the National Secretary, Ayodele Olalere, the group commended Atiku for the visit, adding that Atiku’s wide acceptability stands him ahead of other contenders for the People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket and the Presidential position.

“We want to commend our principal for embarking on that historic visit to Governor Ayodele Fayose. It was a known fact that like Atiku, Governor Fayose is a bold and courageous leader. This visit was an indication of the good relationship between the two great leaders. The synergy between the two leaders will oust APC in 2019 presidential election,” the statement stated.

It added: “That our principal, Alhaji Atiku, was welcomed by such mammoth crowd was also an indication of his popularity in the South West, and the acceptability of his candidacy. We are confident Alhaji Atiku will emerge the People Democracy Party (PDP) presidential flagbearer and eventually becomes president in 2019.”

The group called on youths in the South and across the country to support Alhaji Atiku to become president in 2019.

“We have hundreds of thousands of members in the south. Alhaji Atiku has so much goodwill across the country. He believes youths are the future of this country. He is an employer of labour and has insisted that unless youths are given opportunity to take part in governance, the future of the country look gloomy.”
