Nigeria – Reputable consultancy group, Adler has explained why one of its executive officers, Subomi Plumptre has decided to withdraw from the Enough Is Enough (EIE) Nigeria New Media Citizen and Governance Conference.
In a statement, the group said Subomi agreed to participate in the conference based on parameters which include quality of fit with organisation’s vision, mission, values and ethos, the quality of the panel, seriousness of the event, the credibility of the organizers, and the effect on the brand and employees.
Adler noted that Subomi agreed to participate in the panel based on these parameters and that the panel composition originally sent to her did not include Idris Okuneye(Bobrisky).
“Subomi only learnt of the change to the panel like everyone else on Tweeter, at which she called the ED of EIE Nigeria, organisers of the event about the change in panel composition.
“Such a change disqualifies Subomi Plumptre from participating and she has formerly withdrawn from the event”, Adler said.
It added that the inclusion of Bobrisky unfortunately sensationalises and radicalizes what should otherwise be a serious discourse on new approaches to media engagement.
“Subomi has asked EIE to make statement on their social media platforms”, Adler said.
It added that as an Executive member of Adler, Subomi Plumptre cannot participate in this event as it violates the brand value she is a custodian off and that it is without prejudice to individual right or the right of EIE to compose similar panel as the organisation deems fit and that it does not take a way the laudable objective of the EIE conference
