Nigeria, Sept, 24, 2016 – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has uncovered the sum of N5 billion in the account of a daughter of an army general.

The daughter who is under 30, and a student in a school in the United Kingdom was interrogated by the EFCC in Lagos and was released because of her baby, the Sun Newspaper has reported.

According to the newspaper, the sum of t N10 million was deposited 5 to 6 times within a day into the account prompting the anti-graft agency to invite the account officer of the receiving bank for interrogation which eventually led to invitation of the depositor, the army general’s daughter for interrogation.

“Details of the account show that cash deposits of about N10 million were consistently paid into the account sometimes five or six times a day. The money so far deposited into that account and another in London should well be over N5 billion”, the source told the newspaper.

According to investigation, thousands of Pounds were wired into the bank account of a London based firm’s bank account in behalf of the lady.

The newspaper identified Carrington Whyte Consulting, domiciled at Flat 4, Grove End Gardens 33 Grove End Road NW8 9LL London was curiously registered around June 2014 and shortly after, the funds began to hit its bank account from Nigeria in torrents.
The army general’s daughter is currently under administrative bail.
