Rio, August 22, 2016 – The United States of America left Rio, Brazil at the end of the 2016 Olympics with a total of 46 gold medal, 37 silver medal, 28 bronze and 121 copper.
Great Britain came second with a total of 27 gold medals, 23 silver and 17 bronze medal and 67 copper, followed by China with 26 gold,18 silver, 26 bronze and 70 copper medals.
Russia came 4th with a total of 19 gold medal, 18 silver, 19 bronze medal and 56 copper medals. Germany came a distant 5th with 17 gold, 10 silver, 15 bronze and 42 copper medals. Japan came 6th with a total of 12 gold medals, 8 silver, 21 bronze medal and 41 copper medal followed by France in the 7th place with 10 gold, 18 silver, 14 bronze medals and 42 copper medals.
South Korea in the 8th place went home with 9 gold medals, 3 silver, 9 bronze and 21 copper medals, followed by Italy in the 9th place with 8 gold medals, 12 silver, 8 bronze and 28 copper medals.
Australia occupied the 10th position with 8 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze and 29 copper medals followed by Netherlands in the 11th place with 8 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze and 19 copper medals. Hungary occupied the 12 spot on the medal table with 8 gold medal, 3 silver, 4 bronze and 15 copper medals , followed by Brazil, the host country in the 13th spot with 7 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze and 19 copper medals.
Spain in the 14th position took home 7 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze and 17 copper medals, followed by Kenya in the 15th position. Kenya is the best African team at the tournament with 6 gold medals, 6 silver, 1 bronze medal and 13 copper medals. Coming behind the African team is the 16 spot is Jamaica with 6 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze and 11 copper medals. Croatia is in the 17th spot with 5 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze and 10 copper medals, followed by Cuba in the 18th spot with 5 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze and 11 copper medals.
New Zealand occupied the 19th spot on the medal table with 4 gold, 9 silver, 5 bronze and 18 copper medals, followed by Canada in number 20 with 4 gold, 3 silver, 15 bronze and 22 copper medals.
Uzbekistan occupied the 21st position with 4 gold, 2 silver, 7 bronze and 13 copper followed by Kazakhstan in 22 with 3 gold, 5 silver, 9 bronze and 17 copper medals. Columbia is 23rd with 3 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze and 8 copper medals, followed by Switzerland in 24th place with 3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze and 7 copper medals. Iran is sitting in the 25 spot with 3 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze and 8 copper medals.
Greece is sitting in the 26th spot with 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze and 6 copper followed by Argentina in 27th place with 3 gold, 1 silver, 4 copper. Next in 28th spot is Denmark with 2 gold, 6 silver, 7 bronze and 15 copper medals. Sweden is next on the 29th spot with 2 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze and 11 copper medals.
Next is South Africa in the 30th spot with 2 gold, 6 silver, 2 bronze and 10 copper, followed by Ukraine in 31st spot with 2 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze and 11 copper medals. Serbia is 32 with 2 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze and 8 copper medals, followed by Poland in 33rd place with 2 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze and 11 copper medals.
In the 34th place is North Korea with 2 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze and 7 copper medals. Belgium is next in 35th spot with 2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze and 6 copper medals. It is followed by Thailand in 36th position with 2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze and 6 copper medals. Slovakia occupied 37th spot with 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 copper medals, followed by Georgia in 38th spot with 2 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze and 7 copper medals.
Azerbaijan is 39th on the medal table with 1 gold, 7 silver, 10 bronze and 18 copper medals, followed by Belarus in number 40 with 1 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze and 9 copper medals, trailed by Turkey in 41 spot with 1 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze and 8 copper medals. Next is Armenia in 42 spot with 1 gold, 3 silver and 4 copper medals. Czech Republic occupies 43rd spot with 1 gold, 2 silver, 7 bronze and 10 copper medals, followed by Ethiopia, the third best African team after South Africa. It occupies 44th spot with 1 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze and 8 copper.
Next in the 45th spot is Slovenia
with 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze and 4 copper medals. Indonesia is 46 with 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 copper medals, followed by Romania in 47 spot with 1 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze and 5 copper. Bahrain is next in 48 spot with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 copper followed by Vietnam in 49th spot with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 copper medals, followed by Chinese Taipei in 50th spot with 1 gold, 2 bronze and 3 copper medals.
Bahamas is in number 51 with 1 gold, 1 bronze and 2 copper , followed by Cote d’Ivoire in 52nd spot with 1 gold, 1 bronze and 2 copper, trailed by Independent Olympic Athletes in 53 with 1 gold, 1 bronze and 2 copper medals. Next in 54th spot is Fiji with 1 gold and 1 copper, followed by Jordan in 55 spot with 1 gold and 1 copper. Kosovo is number 55 on the medal table with 1 gold and 1 copper, followed by Puerto Rico in 56 spot with 1 gold and 1 copper. Next on the 57 spot is Singapore with 1 gold and 1 copper, followed by Tajikistan in 58 spot with 1 gold and 1 copper and then Malaysia in 59th spot with 4 silver, 1 bronze and 1 copper and Nigeria occupied 78th spot with 1 bronze and 1 copper.
