US, May 6, 2016 – The Grand Old Party(GOP) better known as Republican Party is now polarized over the emergence of Donald J Trump as presumptive candidate of the party.

Some members of the party are reported to be very angry and burning their party cards with threats to decamp to the Democratic Party to shore up support for Hilary Clinton.

Among them are Speaker of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan who has said he will not endorse Trump. He is not the only top party member to withdraw support for Trump.

Former US presidents George H W Bush and George W Bush have said they will not endorse Donald Trump’s candidacy for president.

“ I understand that Americans are angry and frustrated. But we do not need someone in the Oval Office who mirrors and inflames our anger and frustration,” George W Bush told the South Carolina audience.
These GOP heavyweights are frustrated by comments made by Trump to ban Muslims from entering the US, his comments on immigrants and fencing out Mexico.

But Trump has also bit back at Ryan.
“I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda. Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people. They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!”, Trump said.
