February 08, 2016 – North Korea on Sunday defied United Nations resolutions when it announced its successful launch of satellite into orbit.

The launch violates UN’s Resolutions 1718 and 1874, which prohibit North Korea from testing ballistic missile technology.

The launch makes it the second time that North Korea will successfully launch a satellite into orbit.
“Our leader Kim Jong Un ordered us to launch the Kwangmyongsong-4 (satellite) on February 6, 2016. Scientists and technicians succeeded at launching the Kwangmyung 4 into orbit at 9:46 from the launching site in South Pyongyang Province,” a South Korea television station said..

Commenting after the launch, the Korean news agency said that it took place as part of a 5 -year program for national aerospace development.

“The National Aerospace Development Administration of the DPRK said it will in the future launch more satellites of Juche into the space, true to the great Workers’ Party of Korea’s policy of attaching importance to science and technology.
