September 3, 2015 – Pride of the defunct Bendel State, Nigerian Observer Newspapers is crumbling under the leadership of Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The newspaper which was the pride of former Bendel State no longer gets to places where it has traditionally enjoyed very wide circulation.
The newspaper seldom gets to Lagos, same with other areas in the South West, where it hitherto enjoyed very wide circulation.

We gathered that this is partly because the newspaper still prints with old web offset machine which then military administrator of Bendel State, Mr. Samuel Ogbemudia bought for the organisation.

“When the newspaper starts printing, it takes it about 8 to 12 hours to print one edition of about 5,000 copies. That is why the output is poor and the colour so bad”, an inside source told our reporter.

The source called on the Edo State Governor to retrace his steps, buy new printing press for the newspaper and put structure in place to enable the newspaper regain its pride in the scheme of things.
