Baguda, Aregbesola tackles women in economic turbulence at COWLSO

September 3, 2015 – Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Baguda and his Osun State counterpart, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola have been penciled down to speak on the relevance of women in economic turbulence during the 2015  national women conference, put together by  Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).

Wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode who made the revelation at a press briefing said the forum will examine how women can successfully turn global unpleasant economic environment to the advantage of their families and society.

She said the annual conference tagged; “Relevance in Economic Turbulence” would be declared open by Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Atiku Baguda while his Osun State counterpart, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola will round off proceeding in the last day.

She said the theme was chosen to reflect the prevalent mood in the country and to encourage women to be self-sufficient.

” It will be examining how women can successfully turn the globally unpleasant economic environment to their advantage, the advantage of their families and the society at large.

“The conference will provide new insight into establishing and maintaining good quality life and is expected to be an enriching experience for all participants. Some of the selected topics to be treated at the conference are: ‘The Woman, The Economy and Challenging Times’, ‘The Future Counts – Save Today Thrive Tomorrow’, ‘Skills – A Sure Way to Sustainable Wealth’ and ‘Government’s Support for the Women in Challenging Times.”

Resource persons at the conference include former Head of Women in Business and SME Development, Mrs. Toyin Adeniji; Managing Director of Access Bank Plc., Mr. Herbert Wigwe and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bola Dapo-Thomas.

Highlight of the programme includes presentation of the Inspirational Women of the Year Award to a distinguished Nigerian who excelled in her chosen career, mentored other women and has proven support for the vision of COWLSO.
