September 2, 2015 – At least two people were killed and several others injured in Lagos when an unlatched container fell on a Sports Utility Vehicle(SUV).
We gathered that the accident occurred when the truck bearing the unlatched container skidded off the Ojuelegba bridge and landed on two private cars, crushing occupants in the vehicles.
The incident which occurred around 5:00pm on the busy Ikorodu Road caused pandemonium in the congested road, as commuters gathered to watch the ugly scene.
” It was my turn to load passengers to Ketu before we heard a very loud sound and everybody started running here and there and they said it is container that fell on some vehicles all the way from the bridge. They said the two people in the jeep were killed by the container,” an eye witness said.
As of the time of filing this report traffic policemen and other law enforcement officers were seen diverting traffic , as efforts are been made to remove the truck.
