August 26, 2015 – Activities are now in top gear to make the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) Week a grand celebration of arts.
Part of the attraction is the open air concert which will bring together array of stars in COSON repertoire for a grand concert at Atikan Beach on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The week will however kick off on Sunday, November 1 with prayers at KICC Prayer Dome in Maryland.
The event tagged COSON in the Church will be used by the collecting society to beseech the Almighty God with the most captivating gospel singers across Nigeria and the most respected ministers of the gospel.
The red carpet show to be beamed live to the world from the KICC Prayer Dome will have stars of all colours, business icons and political leaders from every spectrum. Gospel music generalissimo, Buchi Atonwu has been given the big task of assembling the nightingales that will thrill the audience at the church and the millions watching on TV around the world with the finest gospel music in the land.
According to Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Chief Tony Okoroji, the well-known master organizer of unforgettable events, nothing is being left to chance to ensure that COSON in the Church leaves deep memories in the minds of everyone with the opportunity to witness the event.
In Okoroji’s words, ‘People are coming from different parts of the world to be part of this event. Our instruction to all our operatives is to leave no stone unturned as we get ready to produce a show that is of the highest international quality.
“I have inspected the facilities at the KICC Prayer Dome. No one has better facilities in Nigeria. They are top class. The venue is about 30 seconds from the popular Ikorodu Road. Access to the venue is excellent. I have also met with the management of several terrestrial and satellite broadcast stations operating out of Nigeria to make sure that wherever in the world you may be, you will be able to watch COSON in the Church in living colour. We will also be doing live streaming. All gospel music lovers and believers in the gospel are in for lifetime treat’.
On Monday, November 2, attention will shift to Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja where a large group of Nigeria’s hottest intellectuals, social, communication and legal scholars will join the creative community to discuss Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Economy.
The COSON lecture will be followed by COSON in the streets on Tuesday, November 3; the COSON Green Ball at MUSON Centre on Wednesday, November 4 and the COSON All Stars Table Tennis Blow Out at Teslim Balogun Stadium on Thursday, November 5.
The COSON WEEK will climax with the magnificent COSON Song Awards on Friday, November 6. The huge show billed for the New Expo Hall of Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island is expected to raise the bar and set new standards in the organization of showbiz awards in Nigeria.
The curtains will be drawn to the COSON Week 2015 on Saturday, November 7 but only after ‘COSON Storms the Beach’, a spectacular open air beach concert featuring a roll call of Nigeria’s ‘A’ list stars with unbelievable fireworks.
