August 4, 2015 – Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday sacked 15 permanent secretaries in the state civil service. He also appointed 19 others as Permanent Secretaries.
The sack came via circular no: 078 issued by the Lagos State Governor in which they were all forced on compulsory retirement.
According to the circular titled “Retirement of Permanent Secretaries”, signed by Head of Service, Mrs. Shade Jaji, the PS were retired as part of effort to rejuvenate the public service and strategically reposition it to face challenges ahead and maintain its status as number one public service in the federation.
The affected PS are that of Works of Infrastructure, Engr. Bamgbose-Martins, Paul Omotayo, Lagos State Television, Mr. Ajanaku, Adekunle Mudasiru, Waterfront and Infrastructure, Mr. Adedeji, Taiwo Adetunde, Special Duties, Dr. Desalu Aderemi and that of Justice, Mr. Pedro, Lawal Alade Mohammed.
Others are that of Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Fadipe, Ashamu Sewanu, Local Government and Chieftaincy, Mr. Abari, Dada Lateef, that of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mrs. Obasa, Regina Iyabode, Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Sodade, Adebayo Olukayode, Youth and Social Development, Dr. Oshiyimika, John Adesegun, Environment, Engr. Ogunbambi, Adeniyi Hakeem, Surveyor General, Mr. Agbenla, Olorunjuwon Joseph, that of Drainage Services, Mr. Adenekan Ayodeji Adebayo, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Mr. Adediran Joseph Ayodele and that of Parastatal Monitoring Office, Mrs. Onabolu, Folake Folasade.
