March 30, 2015 – There was pandemonium this afternoon in Alausa, Lagos as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepares to announce results of the Presidential election in Abuja.
The atmosphere was very tense as people run helter-skelter following rumour that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has asked civil servants to go home following rumour that opposition party is planning an attack on the Lagos State Secretariat in the face of imminent victory.
But a source in the Lagos State Public Service said the rumour is not true and that there is no circular calling on civil servants to return home.
“There is nothing like that, there is no circular to that effect, His Excellency has not issued any circular to that effect”, the source said.
The rumour was so intense that the whole of Alausa was jam-packed as civil servants began to drive out in large numbers from the secretariat making it very difficult for visitors and workers to access the Lagos State Secretariat.
As at 1PM Monday, March 30, 2015, the driveway was heavy the way it is between 4 and 5PM, the closing time when civil servants leave the secretariat every day.
As at the time of filing this report, the reception to office of the Deputy Governor, Prince Orelope Adejoke-Adefulire was heavy with civil servants who are rushing out of the office, the same scenario was also observed in front of the Ministry of Information, Ministry of Works and other ministries.
