March 30, 2015 – Investigators working to unveil factors that led to crash of Airbus 320 in French Alps, killing all 150 passengers and crew on board have found that the co-pilot has history of suicide intent.

Andreas Lubitz , the 27 year old co-pilot was said to have been treated in a psychiatric home for suicidal tendencies  before he obtained his license to fly. Duesseldorf Prosecutor Christoph Kumpa said  investigation  into the Germanwings plane has not given any clue as far as motive is concerned.

“In the following period, and until recently, further doctor’s visits took place, resulting in sick notes without any suicidal tendencies or aggression against others being recorded,” he said.

Lubitz trained with Lufthansa in 2008 and became a pilot in 2013. He was diagnosed with a serious depressive episode in 2009 and received treatment for a year and a half.

The pilot of the Airbus was said to have exited the cabin and was not allowed in when he returned before the co-pilot crashed the plane in the French Alps.
