March 28, 2015 – Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari was today accredited in 10 minutes in his polling unit in Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari arrived his unit at about 8:30am in an election that was generally peaceful. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) however arrived late in some of the polling stations.
Nevertheless, the voters were well organised and queued up without any hitch. At Community Primary School, Ogun State the turnout was overwhelming same at Sule Abore Street, Ojodu, Lagos.
But by 2pm, accreditation was still ongoing. At Ivienagbo, Ojodu, Lagos, accreditation of voters was already completed at 1:30PM and the electorates were waiting for INEC officials to give them the node to commence voting.
There were conflicting reports in the two polling stations on Jide Kosoko, Ojodu, Lagos. Accreditation and voting was said to have started earlier in one of the unit while officials arrived late at 11 pm in the second polling unit.
The roads were empty, while children took to the streets to play football. Some residents were also seen in beer parlour enjoying themselves.
