Deputy Governor, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Loses Dad

Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Adefulire

December 19, 2014 – Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire has lost her father, Prince Jimoh Kareem –Laka Orelope. He died of undisclosed ailment. He was 101.

In a statement, Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy Governor Mr. Tunde Abatan said the devout Islamic and community leader and politician in Lagos State died in his residence.
According to the statement , he was born to Akeja Oniyanru and Olugbede Royal families of Lagos State on the 25th of February, 1913.

“Pa Jimoh Laka would be remembered for his philanthropic gestures to the less privileged and his commitment to community development and the propagation of the Islamic faith.

“A politician of high repute, he is survived by wife, children, grand children and great grand- children among who is the incumbent deputy Governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Hon. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.”

He said the late politician will be buried today in accordance with Islamic rites.
