Boko Haram: Governor Ibrahim Dakwambo Shuts Down Public Schools

November 14, 2014 – The Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dakwambo has shut down all public schools in the state to forestall possible attacks by members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

The sect has in recent times intensified attacks in Gombe through recent bomb blast in a bus station.

Parents who took their children to school on Tuesday morning were politely turned back and asked to take them back home.

We gathered that Dakwambo issued the directive through a circular which was sent to principals and head of schools.

A permanent secretary, in Gombe State, Mr. Sani Jauro however told News Agency of Nigeria that the students are however on midterm break.
