Relationship between President Goodluck Jonathan and Lamido went sour after the former President of Central Bank of Nigeria leaked content of the letter he wrote to the President alleging that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) failed to remit sum up to $20 billion to the federation account when it became clear to him that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria(AMCON) had indicted him for financial misappropriation.
What followed was his suspension by President Goodluck Jonathan only for Lamido to emerge as Emir of Kano State.
